Haruko Kamio is a supporting character in Air. She is the aunt/foster mother of Misuzu Kamio.

Background

Haruko is Misuzu Kamio's eccentric aunt and foster mother, in which Misuzu's custody was given to her by Keisuke Tachibana (Misuzu's father) after Ikuko Tachibana (Haruko's sister and Misuzu's biological mother) passed away. She cares for Misuzu but doesn't want to get close to her in case Misuzu is taken away from her. Also, this prevents Misuzu having outbursts when she gets close to someone due to her curse and she possibly suffers from alcoholism due to the huge stress coming from such a situation.

Appearance and Personality

Haruko is a beautiful young woman with waist-length reddish-pink hair and blue eyes.

She is a drunken, noisy and outgoing woman who gets easily annoyed and she often insults or pressures Yukito Kunisaki. However, towards the end of the series, Haruko starts to show a gentle, caring and kind side.

Occupation

Haruko's occupation is unknown, as when Yukito Kunisaki asked Misuzu Kamio replied "it's a secret". She wears a suit-like outfit and ties her hair up when going to work, suggesting she works in an office. She rides a motorcycle to get there.
