Kannabi no Mikoto is a character in Air.
Appearence
Kanna is exceptionally beautiful. She has extremely long purple\blue hair that, in the front is tied with red ribbon and two bells at the end of each and is usually seen wearing a huge thick kimono. But when she excaped from the shrine she wears a light tan kimono.
Background
Kannabi no Mikoto (or simply Kanna) was the last of the winged race. At the age of 15, she escaped the shrine with Ryuya and Uraha to visit her mother locked in her prison in the mountain which is at the Reizan Territory. Along the way, she was drawn close to Ryuuya which she treated as a guard earlier. Uraha taught her how to juggle, and Kanna practising and failing to catch the beanbags became a running joke throughout the episodes and the mini series, Air in Summer.
Visiting her mother
When Kanna, Uraha and Ryuya finally got to the prison, they saw Kanna's mother locked in prison. Ryuya used his sword to get her out, and when Kanna went to hug her, Kanna's mother told her not to touch her. They escaped, but didn't get far, so Kanna's mother was shot with an arrow. While saying her last words, she asked how Kanna was and Kanna told her the story of their trip. Her mother then told Kanna a confusing passage, a code among the winged people. Uraha then told Kanna to show her mother her juggling act, and Kanna tried, and failed. While her mother praised her, Kanna believed it was bad, and kept trying. While practising, her mother told Ryuya that once she died, he was not to touch her, and leave her as she was. With that, she died.
Death
By the death of her mother, they continued their way back to the shrine. Along the way, they were seen by warriors of another country and tried to kill them. When she knew that the warriors are near, she used her wings to protect Ryuuya and Uraha. When she did it, the monks tried to put a curse on her just like they did to her mother. She was shot by arrows while flying then caught by the curse and she disappeared.
